Admissions Policy

Admission to Chettinad Sarvalokaa Education is open to all children regardless of nationality, race, gender or religion. Applications are accepted throughout the year.

Placement Criteria

Placements are made by the Admissions Committee based on a student's age and past academic and behavioral reports (where available). Initial placements are provisional and the school may recommend changing a placement if it would better meet a student’s learning needs and potential. In such instances, parents will be notified and further observation and testing may take place to determine the best course of action.


Non-native English speaking students are admitted to Nursery, Pre-KG, Lower KG and Upper KG without regard to their English language fluency. Once the academic year is in progress, students will be expected to demonstrate an acceptable level of fluency in English. The school will provide English as Second Language (ESL) training to students to ensure that they attain the required level of fluency.

For Grades 1-5, students are required to have a basic level of English fluency to begin the academic year. Pre-admission English language tutoring can be arranged to build a child’s English fluency in preparation for the start of the academic year.

Learning Difficulties or Disabilities

The School will admit any student that it is confident of providing fully for their learning needs. The school reserves the right to review a placement should evidence emerge during class observation of suspected learning difficulties or disabilities that were not identified or evident during the initial admission process. In such instances, parents will be notified and may be required to consult a specialist institution for a formal assessment and, if the school feels it is in the student’s best interests, to move them to a school that will better suit their individual learning needs.
